9. Pfaffenwinkel (Priest Corner) Tour.

This tour will begin at either 8:00 or 9:00 am.

This is a very special tour for those who are interested in the decorative art of Rococo. The tiny area is rich in culture, done by a small group of artists who's families worked together to produce a very high level of art work.

This Pfaffenwinkel tour is only possible with advance booking due to small groups and limited tours in a nunnery which is still in use.

We will drive by several lakes en route to the many churches and monasteries. Rare old paintings await you. There are ancient hidden relics in these churches, dating to back to 1170 AD.

Today on this Pfaffenwinkel tour we will concentrate on visiting very old, sometimes-tiny churches, which date back to the early beginnings of the Bavarian family; as early 753 AD.
Here we need time, as there are very small country roads.
I would like to plan the tour as we go according to the weather, time and traffic conditions.

A visit to a Monastery founded in 753 AD is possible; here a guided tour can be arranged which will be given by sisters of the monastery.

You will see very famous molding (Stuccowork) done by the school of local artists in the 1700's (The world famous Asam and Zimmerman brothers were part of this school).

There is a 1000 year old tree nearby (Tassillo Baum), with stories to match! We can eat lunch here at an excellent restaurant, or go on to a nearby brewery and Monastery where you overlook the countryside. The Monks make the best beer, so here is a good place for lunch too.

There are several more famous churches in the area that can be visited after lunch. I prefer to plan this part of the day according to the wishes of my clients.
