32. Totally unique Bavarian attractions!
Depart your Munich intercity hotel at 9:00
This trip is a classic Bavarian experience you will never forget. A day high in the Alps in a picture book atmosphere of pristine lakes surrounded by high snow covered mountains peaks; what more can one ask for?
We will go immediately to the Alpine foothills, where we visit a local treasure deep in the Bavarian Alps where an Olympic Gold medal winning skier has built an outdoor Bavarian folk art farm museum.
The Bavarian folk art farm museum has fantastic restaurant with great beer where you can have lunch in a charming atmosphere.
This recently-opened property encompassing several acres is tucked away in a valley with towering 1,000-ft "foothills" offers insights into Bavarian farm culture dating back hundreds of years. Here you will find four-and five hundred year old cottages, farms and workshops which have been restored to their original condition at this location: reconstructed with all sorts of genuine artifacts and memorabilia, and staffed them with guides and artisans in accurate replica costumes.
Working kitchens, pottery shops, blacksmith forges and kitchens show how Bavarians lived and worked from medieval times until just a hundred years ago. There is nothing quite like this anywhere else.
After we depart the Museum in the afternoon we can visit a nearby local distillery where modern day Bavarian whiskey and other liquors, cordials and schnaps are made.
Later that afternoon you can make a walk long the crystal clear lake making a pause for coffee and cake before returning to Munich.
