A Memorable Day With John!
My husband and I just returned from a 12 day trip in Europe. The day we spent with John touring Ludwig’s castles was one of the best days of our trip. We had a delightful lunch outside overlooking the mountains at a restaurant where John knows the owners and we were treated like family. John navigated the winding roads like a pro while explaining the history of the countryside. The views were spectacular.

During our trip we had several private guides and John was one of the best! John is knowledgeable, warm, and fun to be with. John grew up in the US so his English is perfect. He’s lived in Germany for over 30 years so his German is fluent as well. It’s the best of both worlds! We give John’s Bavarian tours two thumbs up!!

John also recommended The Hotel Opera. The hotel staff is delightful, the included breakfast was delicious, and the room was lovely. We never would have found this gem without John’s recommendation.

Castle Tours and King Ludwig celebration
John was an EXCELLENT tour guide! First, on planning our trip, he was always available and very helpful and responsive to my many questions.
He recommended an awesome hotel, Hotel Opera, and took us out for two days of our trip. His contacts made touring and ticketing very seamless and he is very knowledgable of the culture and sights. He recommended we attend the King Ludwig celebration, attended mostly by locals, and it was incredible. We dined at two terrific restaurants of his choosing. I will definitely use john again.

Awesome Tour Guide
I spent 2 days with John touring Ludwig's castles and attending a celebration marking the anniversary of Ludwig's death. These 2 days spent with John was incredible!
Lunch on the lake was the by far the best meal we had the entire 14 days I spent traveling!

A fabulous experience
We spent two days with John in early July, visiting Salzburg and Ludwig's castles. It was a pleasant experience. My six year old boy also enjoyed the tour and he especially loves the birthday lunch John has arranged for him in a cozy restaurant in Austria. The restaurant owner, Herman, made my son a special apple pie with a huge sparkling candle which made the whole experience very memorable.

A great day at Chiemsee
We were a group of 9 from the Washington DC area.
Due to various issues, we were only able to do a single day with John, and we decided to visit Herrenchiemsee and the Fraueninsel.
It was a glorious day weather-wise. John knows that part of the world very well, and took care of us for the entire day. He was very conscious of the age and health-issues of our group, ensuring that no one got left behind.
Everyone enjoyed the day immensely. My only regret is that we did not have the opportunity to spend more time with this very knowledgeable man. Maybe next time.
On a side note, those of us who speak German found John's blend of American accent, Hochdeutsch and Bavarian dialect to be amusingly charming!

Fantastic day tour
We were in Munich at the end of September for the Oktoberfest and only had one day to spare for sightseeing we enjoyed the Ludwig tour immensely stopping off at a lovely restaurant over the border in Austria for lunch and then travelling through the Bavarian Alps and were fascinated by all the facts and trivia, it was a beautiful drive and we were blessed with a beautiful sunny day, thanks for a great day that we will always remember

John even delivered the sunshine
We had a great day tour to Neuschwanstein. My friends visited me in Munich and we wanted to arrange a tour to see the castle. John arranged to pick us at their hotel and bring us to the castle with a lovely lunch on the Alpen See afterwards and an extra stop to a historical church on the way back to the city.
He shared his knowledge of the area and King Ludwig II on the way. Once we arrived at the castle the sun even made an appearance after a week of heavy cloud cover. Everyone had a great time and learned some history while we were at it.

Great day trip
John was excellent host from pre-booking to finish.
My brother and I had a great day with John he met us at our hostel door right on time first stop was Durnbach War Cemetery where our Great uncle is berried which was beautiful John even offered to stop for us to pick up flowers. from there we stoped in a lovely Bavarian village bakery for a pastry and coffee before we set off for Herrenchiemsee. Even though John was not technically able to guide us round he keep feeding us great extra information as we went around with the larger tour group and got us some great booklets to finish off. To cap everything off the weather was excellent.
Would definitely recommend
