A step beyond
I planned my stay here in Munich last week through my local travelling agency and before comitting to anything I wanted to make sure I could see and do everything I had planned (Corona Times).
John helped me organise every step of my trip, from the airport pick-up to the airport drop-off, and all I had to do was send him a list of all the things I wanted to do: museums, castles, shops, restaurants, etc. He also looked after booking my PCR test for my way home and I got my results 6 hours later instead of the usual 24 hours.
I believe that people who wish to take advantage of the curtain situation (10 people per group in all of Ludwig's castles instead of 40 and empty museums) should plan in advance and travel at the earliest possible time. I mean before everything is over-book and overcrowded. Who knows how long this state of limbo will last?
Even though early planning is required it is still possible to visit the many places we have been dreaming about during the long lock down. John too will also be very happy to be able to visit the wonderful places that have been closed for almost a year!
The current Corona requirements for visiting the EU are on John’s home page and on your local country's website so go for it ! It is the perfect time to travel and if you are looking for a professional and flexible tour guide look no further.

Thank you John for making my Ludwig dreams come true and for giving me the most exclusive Munich experience.

Fantastic Bavarian tour despite COVID limitations
We started planning our weeklong December 2021 Bavarian trip with John in April 2021 and he communicated with us regularly, both by email and with a few planned phone calls, to set up 7 daily guided trips (Munich city tour, Hohanschwangu, Lauingen, Garmisch/Zugspitze, Berchtesgaden, Augsburg and Salzburg Austria) with him as well as airport pick up and drop off. In addition to a few selections from his wide variety of options on his website, he also helped us coordinate a tour of the Deutz-Fahr tractor factory in Lauingen (after researching a few other similar options which didn’t work out).
He was very thorough in his preparations for our visits, booking and reconfirming our reservations for English-speaking tours at castles, museums, the factory, etc with a strong focus on making sure we were prepared for everything required given COVID-19. He made sure we had the right masks, vaccines, tests, etc for each situation including scheduling and bringing us for our COVID PCR testing while we were in Germany (as required in Bavaria at that time). His vast knowledge of the area and of course Ludwig the 2nd was apparent and appreciated throughout our stay.
He knew a lot of delicious restaurants in each location, some more common for tourists and some local haunts. He was able to adapt during the week to our preferences including helping us seek out antique stores as well as souvenirs/gifts in our tour locations as well as in Munich. He also directed us to the Hotel Opera in Munich where we stayed for the week and it was lovely lodging with a delicious breakfast each morning and a very helpful concierge team who helped us coordinate our evening activities in Munich.
